Design Services
Alex Oliver Associates is a Royal Institute of British Architects chartered practice. We have extensive experience in the design of new buildings, often in sensitive locations, as well as the conservation, restoration, and adaptation of historic structures. We are a relatively small team with a diverse set of skills but a common focus: the creation of beautiful buildings and environments that work well for people and place.
We work across a range of scales and sectors, from interiors and furniture design, to one-off private homes and master-planning. What unites our projects is the sensitivity and awareness of the context in which we work.
In all our projects we perform a rigorous analysis of client objectives, site characteristics and local context. We combine this with innovative thinking, creativity, and multitude of experience. Our architecture exhibits the outcome of this rigour.
As architects and designers we can provide a full service from initial consultation, through all phases of design and construction to successful handover to our clients at the end of the project. Within the office we have a range of experiences and skills which enables us to offer a range of supplementary services. These can either be provided in addition to the normal architectural services or as a standalone appointment depending on the project circumstances

The property is an example of traditional architecture, reinterpreted for modern living. The property has high ceilings and a generous entertaining space within a compact house, designed for lifetime use for a client with an interesting collection of Victorian furniture and a keen interest in architecture and design.

A large private site set within the Green Belt and surrounded by woodland, Winterbrook is currently occupied by a modest 1970s house in a poor state of repair and of no significant architectural interest. The garden too has been largely neglected and is currently little more than a field. Our task was to create a home and gardens worthy of falling in love with, and in doing so, to maximise the value of a private and salubrious site close to London.

A new classical country home built for modern day family life located in Hampshire, designed by Architects Alex Oliver Associates. The design of the home uses high ceilings and large windows, characteristic of Georgian architecture, to provide plenty of natural light into the interior. In turn the interior of the house has bright and varied spaces which form a theatrical and practical backdrop to contemporary family life.
